You Magnified Our Scope of Care: MRI Milestone
Together, we secured a first for St. Mary’s: an MRI machine that offers patients the gold standard in diagnostic imaging.
Construction on the MRI will begin soon and the project is expected to be ready to take on patients by March 2024.
St. Mary’s was the only cardiac centre in the province without MRI capabilities – until now. Having an MRI on site is a game-changer for our community:
- reduces wait times
- provides swift diagnosis
- eliminates patient travel
- increases diagnostic capacity throughout region

As we commemorate the milestones we’ve reached together, we’re also looking to a new chapter in care: upgrading our diagnostic imaging equipment. St. Mary’s General Hospital Foundation is focusing the bulk of its funding efforts on diagnostics over the next few years.
